Institute of Vehicle Propulsion Systems

Design

Our Institute of Vehicle Propulsion Systems is able to carry out extensive developments with the help of computer aided design (CAD) software. Common tools include PTC Creo, Ansys and a variety of other development tools.

Our own developments include various fully variable valve train concepts, the complete development of cylinder heads and the development of a single-cylinder research engine.

In collaboration with the areas of CFD simulation, mechanical development or FEM simulations and multi-body simulations, which are represented at our chair, it is possible to work out various mechanical concepts in detail.

These are applied both in publicly funded research projects and in projects with our industrial partners.
